Free Tax Preperation at PSC

The Polish & Slavic Center once again offers a free tax preparation for the 2014 taxes as a part of the VITA Program.

In order to quantify for the program and receive the free tax preparation a person must:

  1. The family income (with dependents) must be less than $58,000 for the year 2014.
  2. Person filling the taxes cannot be the owner of a house or business.

For an appointment a person must bring:

  • Photo ID
  • Social Security or Tax ID cards for everyone being claimed
  • W2 and/or 1099 Statement
  • If claiming child care, bring documentation and care provider Tax ID Number
  • Last year’s income tax return (year 2013)
  • If you receive an unemployment insurance in 2014, bring form 1099-INT
  • If self-employed, bring a self-declaration letter stating your income in 2013 and receipts/ledger stating your business expenses.
  • Any other relevant tax information

If you would like to have your tax returns to be send directly to your bank account you must bring your bank account number and routing number.

In case where a tax return is done by a couple, both partners must sign in order to electronically send the prepared taxes to IRS.
