Brooklyn, NY – Z przyjemnością informujemy iż Centrum Polsko-Słowiańskie otrzymało grant w wysokości 25 000 dolarów od New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) na rok 2026. Finansowanie zostało przyznane w ramach programu Support for Organizations i wesprze całoroczne programy kulturalne i artystyczne realizowane przez Centrum.

Grant pomoże pokryć część honorariów artystów, kosztów operacyjnych oraz wynagrodzeń pracowników bezpośrednio zaangażowanych w organizację programów kulturalnych, co umożliwi PSC dalsze rozwijanie swojej oferty kulturalnej.

Powstałe z myślą o zachowaniu i popularyzowaniu polskiego dziedzictwa Centrum Polsko-Słowiańskie w ostatnich latach stało się prężnym ośrodkiem kultury w północnym Brooklynie, dzięki temu, że znacząco rozszerzyło swoją działalność programową, oferując bogaty kalendarz koncertów, wystaw, spektakli teatralnych oraz programów edukacji artystycznej dla dzieci.

W 2026 roku PSC będzie kontynuować cotygodniowy program plastyczny „Little Picasso”, który zachęca dzieci do odkrywania malarstwa, rysunku i twórczej ekspresji. Centrum przygotowuje również wydarzenia immersyjne przybliżające dzieciom tradycje słowiańskie, a także programy teatralne prezentowane przez Polish Theater Institute.

PSC będzie nadal organizować koncerty i festiwale obejmujące szerokie spektrum gatunków muzycznych – w tym jazz, blues, metal, hip-hop oraz tradycyjną muzykę polską – aby angażować publiczność o różnych zainteresowaniach artystycznych.

Centrum pozostaje również zaangażowane w tworzenie wydarzeń kulturalnych dla seniorów, które dają możliwość spotkań towarzyskich, rozwoju talentów oraz budowania relacji ze społecznością, w tym z młodszym pokoleniem. PSC będzie nadal udostępniać scenę lokalnym chórom, grupom teatralnym i artystom, a także rozwijać współpracę z uznanymi instytucjami kultury, aby zapraszać do Nowego Jorku znanych muzyków, aktorów i pisarzy z Europy.

Jest to drugi rok z rzędu, w którym Centrum Polsko-Słowiańskie otrzymuje finansowanie od NYSCA. Grant dodatkowo wzmocni rolę PSC jako dynamicznego ośrodka kultury służącego społeczności imigrantów i lokalnej na Brooklynie.

Polish and Slavic Center Receives $25,000 NYSCA Grant to Support Cultural Programming in 2026

Brooklyn, NY – The Polish and Slavic Center (PSC) is pleased to announce that it has received a $25,000 grant from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) for year 2026. The funding was awarded through NYSCA’s Support for Organizations program and will support the Center’s cultural and arts programming throughout the year.

The grant will help cover artists’ fees, operating costs, and salaries of staff directly involved in organizing cultural programming, allowing PSC to continue expanding its cultural offerings for the community.

Founded on the principle of preserving and sharing cultural heritage, the Polish and Slavic Center has become an important cultural hub in Northern Brooklyn. Over the past five years, the Center has significantly expanded its programming, offering a robust calendar of concerts, exhibitions, theatrical performances, and arts education programs for children.

“This support from the New York State Council on the Arts is incredibly important for our community,” said Agnieszka Granatowska, Executive Director of the Polish and Slavic Center. “It allows us to continue developing programs that celebrate our cultural heritage while bringing together diverse audiences from across New York City.”

In 2026, PSC will continue its “Little Picasso” weekly art program, which encourages children to explore painting, drawing, and creative self-expression. The Center is also preparing immersive events introducing children to Slavic traditions, as well as theatrical programming presented by the Polish Theater Institute.

PSC will continue organizing concerts and festivals featuring a wide range of musical genres—including jazz, blues, metal, hip-hop, and traditional Polish music—to engage audiences of different backgrounds and generations.

The Center remains committed to offering cultural experiences for older adults that provide opportunities to socialize, dance, and connect with younger generations. PSC will also continue to provide a stage for local choirs, theater groups, and artists while expanding partnerships with established cultural institutions to bring renowned musicians, actors, and writers from Europe.

This marks the second consecutive year that the Polish and Slavic Center has received funding from NYSCA. The grant will further strengthen PSC’s role as a vibrant cultural hub serving Brooklyn’s immigrant and local communities.
