English classes aimed at immigrants of Slavic background as well as Slavic visitors to the United States who would like to learn or develop their English language skills. It is one of the longest-running programs in Polish-Slavic Center as necessary as the need to speak English in an English-speaking country.

We offer English courses at various levels of advancement in trimesters: fall, winter, spring tailoring our curriculum to the needs of our learners. We offer morning and evening weekday courses and weekend ones. Our well-qualified bilingual staff is teaching the language using the newest verified methods, creating friendly atmosphere and providing each student with individual attention. Our classes are held in convenient locations in Greenpoint and Ridgewood. The tuition fee for one sixty-minute class is only $5. We also offer free-of-charge classes in the mornings.

In 2016 the program had about one hundred participants from Poland, Lithuania and Belarus commuting from New York area, New Jersey and Connecticut. Our groups comprise six to twelve students, which creates an optimal setting for learning a foreign language.

Polish-Slavic Center English as a Second Language Program cooperates with Jewish Community Council of Greater Coney Island and Department of Youth and Community Development in organizing and financing free-of-charge English classes.
