Become a Part-Time Cooking Instructor for The League of Kitchens!

We’re looking for immigrants who live in NYC who are knowledgeable and passionate home cooks (non-professional cooks) to teach small cooking workshops in their homes.

All instructors will receive approximately 40 hours of paid training.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Passionate home cook (non-professional cook) with a deep knowledge of traditional cooking techniques and recipes.
  • Can host 4–6 people in your home (children and other family can be present during workshops).
  • You live in NYC, and your home is near a subway station or bus stop.
  • Conversant in English.
  • Enjoy sharing your culture and your story.
  • Enjoy hosting people in your home.
  • Enjoy meeting and talking with new people from different backgrounds.
  • Comfortable on camera.
  • Responsible and dependable.
  • Excited to help build an innovative new company.
  • Teaching experience a plus.
  • Can teach at least two workshops per month on Saturdays or Sundays from 1-6:30pm. (Instructors! will additionally be paid for 2 hours of prep time and 1 hour of follow-up time for each workshop.)
  • Some availability on weekdays is a plus.

COMPENSATION:
$25/hr + reimbursement for food costs. Training time will be compensated
at $20/hr (~40 hours).
